Colossians 1:19
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,
The apostolic pen of Paul was always dipped in the ink of revelation.
Every character which was written on the scrolls and parchments were not without amazing insights as far as the Pauline Christological theology was concerned.
Indeed Epaphras’s report on the faith and love of the saints in Colosse was enough to provoke this apostle extraordinare to write this revelatory epistle even though he was in chains.
And Paul had indepth understanding into Christ. To Paul, living was Christ. Christ was the life he lived by faith and Christ was the hope that begot the glory of God.
No wonder Paul resolved to know nothing except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
So at this point, Paul was convinced beyond reasonable doubt that Christ is our all in all, our blessed hope, our life giving stream and our chief shepherd.
Paul had received enough conviction of the reality of Christ and therefore, could boldly by revelation and certainty conclude that all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in him.
Beloved, this is the reason we give Jesus pre-eminence over all things.
He is the embodiment of sovereignty, the manifestation of diety and the expression of divinity.
The Father was pleased to wear the Son and the Spirit was blessed to be full of the Son.
So he who has the Son has the Father and has the Spirit. It pleased the Father to have all his fullness dwell in him. Halleluya.
No wonder we conclude:
Jesus, the fullness of divinity
Revealed as the perfection of humanity
Who is the completeness of all entities
O Lord reign through all eternity. Selah
