Revelation 19:9
Then the angel said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!'” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”
Beloved, let’s stay a little while in Revelations 19 because there are in there some wonderful pearls worth identifying and collecting.
Apostle John is seeing amazing things and hearing voices of great sounds.
The privilege of catching a glimpse of heaven and watching the four living creatures and 24 elders proclaim the Lord God Almighty reigns
Suddenly, he hears an instruction: write! blessed are those invited to the wedding supper of the lamb.
Beloved, haven’t we heard on numerous occasions where an event is tagged “attendance is strictly by invitation”?
Meaning not everyone qualifies to be at such a function.
In much the same way, the wedding supper of the Lamb would be by special invitation and the angels consider whoever is invited as blessed.
Beloved, the crown of our faith is this glorious invitation where Jesus returns as the conquering Lord and seats us at the Royal Banquet.
The wedding supper, an event Jesus himself always looked forward to would become a reality where the church of Christ would be fully revealed adorned in her beauty, class and grandeur.
It would be an event of great joy where Jesus will drink the fruit of the vine with us (Matt. 26:29)
No wonder, the angel said, these are the true sayings of God assuring us that the consummation would surely take place.
I don’t know about you but it’s my desire to be part of this blessed invitation.
I long to be seated at this royal ceremony and to drink from the wine of eternity.
No wonder, my life is surrounded fully, yieldedly and completely to Christ as my Lord and Saviour and allowing Him to fully express his life in me as I daily walk with Him.
Beloved? Is Christ, your Lord and Saviour? Do you anticipate this invitation?
Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as he is pure (1John 3:3)
A glorious invitation beckons, beloved.
SING ALONG
I am travelling to Heaven
Heaven is my home
There are storms on the way
But with Jesus in my heart
I have my salvation
I am working my way through
I shall be in heaven
Heaven is my home
