Revelation 19:10(b)
Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
The mystery of the book of Revelation is that it unveils deep truths and significant essentials aimed at positioning believers and unbelievers to anticipate what lies ahead.
In chapter 19, a beautiful picture is shown to John which draws him to fall to worship the angel sent but in resisting that worship, the angel brings out the mystery – The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
In other words, every prophetic word should be themed, focused and reveal Christ.
Therefore any prophetic word that does not exalt Christ is no prophetic word.
Beloved, Christ is God’s sure prophetic word. Any pulpit that preaches Christ is preaching prophecy.
Christ is the person, revelation and fulfillment of prophecy.
For God who at sundry times spoke by the prophets has in the last days spoken by his son, Jesus Christ.
Don’t forget the prophetic office was the main medium in the old testament but in the new testament, the prophetic is a by-product of His resurrection.
He gave some apostles, prophets…for the perfecting of the saints, work of ministry until we come to maturity.
Prophets in the New Testament are not just to be prophesying but are to perfect us to be like Christ.
Don’t forget that in the New Testament, prophesy is not the exclusivity of prophets but all of us.
For I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh and your sons and daughters shall PROPHESY(Acts 2:17-18)
Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts particularly the GIFT OF PROPHESY(1Cor. 14:1)
Listen, beloved, this is not to condemn prophesy and its place in the church cause I believe so much in prophecy but if you are in Christ, you are your own prophet and every prophetic word comes to affirm what you already know about your life and destiny in Christ.
Beloved, let us stay alert and let no one deceive us in the name of prophesy.
He that hath ears, let him hear and judge accordingly. Selah
SING ALONG
Jesus the Son of God
I believe in you
I believe in you
In my darkest hour, you became my light.
With your healing arms, you redeem my sight
Jesus the Son of God
I believe in you
I believe in you
