PRAISE GEMS – SETTLING CONTROVERSIES – FIND HIM

John 1:45

Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote–Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

images-61-jpgWe continue our discourse on settling controversies and I kept reflecting on the various issues and how to guard against potential drifts, my spirit was struck with this scripture.

Beloved, our passage for this morning essentially speaks of how Philip reports to Nathaniel to finding him whom the law and Moses pointed to – Jesus Christ.

This gives us the indication that Jesus Christ is the theme and agenda of the law and the prophets.

Hence, finding Christ and being in complete union with Him settles all controversies.

For He’s the message and the content, explanation and interpretation of all mysteries.

Suffice to say that many people focus on finding things instead of finding Him.

But to find Him is primary to finding things – seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things shall be added.

Christ is the kingdom and righteousness of God for it pleased God to have all fullness dwell in Him.

I don’t know about you but I want to find Jesus. I want to know Him and be consumed in Him.

No wonder Paul resolved to know nothing except Christ and Him crucified.

O that we may know Him and the power of his resurrection.

Let’s not come to the place of following Christ’s works and not finding His person.

But let us daily with reverent hearts seek to find Him and to know Him more and more.

For I love those who love and they which seek me diligently shall find me saith the Lord.

Enjoy church!

SING ALONG
Jesus, lamb of God
Worthy is your name
You are my strength when I am weak
You are the treasure that I seek
You are my all in all

Seeking you as a precious jewel
Lord to give up I’ll be a fool
You are my all in all
