Nehemiah 1:1
The words of Nehemiah son of Hacaliah: In the month of Kislev in the twentieth year, while I was in the citadel of Susa,

Blessed be God and Father of our Lord Jesus for his refreshing dew of grace that has enabled us to be ushered into another new month.

Our focus is to continue to deepen our walk with him by engaging reflectively with the book of Nehemiah and drawing some useful lessons for our lives.

Our passage begins with “the words of Nehemiah”, experiences of a man who was a captive of war and a slave in a strange land and yet whose passion was to see God restore his people.

No wonder his name means Jehovah has comforted.

Beloved, there is nothing as assuring and heartwarming as the knowledge of the comfort of Jehovah.

Apostle Paul describes him as the Father of compassion and God of all comfort (1Cor. 1:3)

To comfort means to be brought at ease from suffering, pain, anguish, distress.

It also means to soothe, console, enliven and to strengthen.

This month, may Jehovah soothe our souls with the warmth of his embrace.

Probably, the past 10 months have been hectic and very intense and draining emotionally but step into your season of comfort.

I speak prophetically into November that your smile will brighten your face again.

Under Yahweh our comforter, every blanket of sorrow will be removed and the shining garment of joy will adorn you inside out.

For on the table of his comfort, we shall eat in plenty and be satisfied to give him all the glory.

The Nehemiah’s spirit is the spirit of comfort that swallows any trace of downcast syndrome and morose-like bacterium.

Your laughter is coming back to you for in this month, the lines will fall for you in pleasant places.

Listen, how can the devil break you down when Jehovah cuddles you with his undying comfort.

This shall be your story in this month so come along as we daily draw inspiration from Nehemiah to comfortably enjoy the comforting rhema from Jehovah our comforter. Selah

SING ALONG
Comforter, that’s who you are to me
Comforter, a name that fits so perfectly
Peace that passes all understanding
