Proverbs 10:22
The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.
One of the most talked of statements in the bible is the blessing of the Lord.
From the Old to the New Testaments, we see shades and traces of what it means to be blessed by the Lord in the lives of many people.
This paints a beautiful picture that life can be made much easier as long as a man carries the blessing of the Lord.
This is what the wise man acknowledged and therefore remarked that it is the Lord’s blessing that makes rich and he adds no sorrow to it.
Solomon knew what he was saying because by the agency of the Lord’s blessing, he received wisdom, riches, wealth and honour.
The blessing of the Lord was so critical that Jacob was ready to have his hollow joint dislocated in order to receive it.
Jabez, overlooked his honour, and sought to be blessed through an intense prayer time.
No wonder God commanded Moses to charge the priests to always declare to Israel that the Lord bless and keep you.
Why? Because the blessing of God is the approval of heaven.
It is the release of the password to the secret code of divinity.
It is unrestricted access to the throne room of Sovereignty.
It is the authentication, validation and endorsement of Elohim.
In the old covenant, conditions precipitated the blessing but in the new covenant, our faith in Christ brings us into the blessing.
This morning, it’s assuring to encourage ourselves that we can only close the chapter of this 10th month with the mindset that in blessing are we blessed.
As a priest of the Lord therefore, I declare to you this week that may the Lord bless and keep you. May the Lord make his face shine over you. May Yahweh lift up his countenance over you and give you everlasting peace. Selah
